In 1847, Johann Gramp planted the Barossa’s first vines on the banks of Jacob’s Creek, founding the Gramp & Sons business over 180 years ago.
The Gramp Family were known for their egalitarian and open nature, often welcoming new immigrants to the Barossa to share wine, a meal and friendship at their table.
In 1976, the Jacob’s Creek brand was launched, rapidly becoming one of Australia’s most popular wines, continuing on the Gramp family tradition and spirit.
